How does the
ball mill work? Well, it’s actually the impulsive force created in dropping materials(stone, steel ball, etc.) and the mutual friction between the material and grinding body that leads the process. Because of the frictional force, the ground materials will be rotated up and down, thus completing the grinding recycling.
From the ball mills’ different shapes, they can be classified into three general type: cylindrical ball mill, cone ball mill and tube mill.
Well, the first concern in our mind when we try to know about a certain product is its benefits and deficiency. And how about the
ball mill mentioned here?
Let us focus on its benefits first. The ball mill today can fit to the dry and wettest grind of materials. And the whole grinding process is in a sealed environment, avoiding the flying dust. Despite the reliable performance, the ball mill’s grinding body is not expensive and easy changeable. For the sake of safety, when processing explosive materials, the inactive gas will be input to replace air.
However, there are some real limitations of
ball mill. As we can see, this kind machine’s body is in huge volume. In addition, the strong vibration and loud noise demand comparatively highly-stable body foundation. Its uncomplicated working process to a certain degree cannot guarantee low energy consumption with high efficiency. Another limitation is that the purity of product cannot be fully guaranteed because of the great force of friction between the grinding body and input materials.
